Our Founder

Joshua Jantz

I was raised in both Germany and Indonesia. These two cultures have shaped how I see life, community, and responsibility.

From Indonesia, I carry a deep connection to nature, farming, and tradition. From Germany, I value quality, structure, and innovation.

Caldera Kaffee brings these two worlds together. It is more than just a coffee brand. It is my way of connecting cultures, supporting fair partnerships, and creating something meaningful and honest.

Why Coffee Plantation Ownership?

This idea is inspired by the German Schrebergarten concept, where people care for their own small garden. But instead of vegetables, you support your own coffee trees growing on a beautiful agroforestry farm near Lake Toba in Indonesia.

You help farmers earn fair and stable incomes, and your support also brings real value to roasters and cafés. It is a fair, sustainable, and meaningful way to be part of something important.

Direct Trade

Why Direct Trade?

In Indonesia, 98% of coffee is grown by smallholder farmers. Most of them can’t export their beans because middlemen and big collectors stand in the way.

Direct trade is the only way to break through that system. It gives farmers a real voice, fairer prices, and access to the world.
